That product is only for 1st gen trucks... :{

Dane,

That is what I thought at first too but you need to scroll down the page to find the Tough Country bars which are offered for a 2nd gen.

Ordered them today. I checked that price against another distributor ... about $100 cheaper @ rockymountain. :eek: :)

Anyway ... any tricks to pulling off the bottom bracket on the leaf springs? Looks like just taking off the bottom 4 nuts on the U bolts.

forrest let me know how the install goes and please take pictures. i have been looking for bars and loops for a while now... which ones did you get?

4 ... 2 under & 2 on the side.

Haven't got there yet, but when I was sizing stuff up, I was looking @ the clearance between the tank & the frame. :--) :{

LOL looks like you're going to have to fish the nuts up there and hold them some how, or you should have enough room to pull the tank a little bit and move away from the frame.

No foul intended, but the brakets look chincy. I'm used to overkill, and the more i read and see about our cummins, the more i'm learning to love overkill!!!! Other than the brackets, i think the bars are great (the the walls are thick enough)

Is there any way you could drill through the bracket and the lower spring bracket, and put like a couple 3/8th's bolts in there too ?? Just the thought of only having the front u-bolts holding doesn't sound good to me!

Hope all works out well

Curtis

They be in place now Oo. Stability is TONS better. Limitied driving so far but mucho more stable. When you stomp it, no more fish tailing & pulling.

Lemme tell you ... there is NO freeking clearance to get your hand in between the frame & the fuel tank. Frank & Gary helped me out this morning ... show stopper w/o these guys. I had no way of drilling the 1/2" holes & they brewed up this baby ... on the end of 3' of welding rod, slid into the frame channel from ahead a ways.
