To everyone...

Is there any regulation in taking a Weber type BBQ to the Campgrounds???

There was a no no on open pit Fires???

Joe, I am sure you'll be fine with the BBQ, I can understand the no open pit fires. Not that there is a huge fire danger in nice, flat Tulare. :)

end of the first day... .

this event has grown immensely since last time it was held a few years back.

73 different exhibitor booths in the vendors area.

The competition events were well represented among all three brands.

BBD's first time behind the wheel of the new rig went very smoothly and he done good.

BBD: (Note to self: close driver's door before fastening safety harness)

:D :D :D

I went and was not thrilled with audio malfunctions also the staging tree didnt work, events didnt begin on time.

I might be back again to BBQ but not to burn my Cash on admission:(

seemed poorly planned to me. Delay after delay on saturday. They fooled with the starting lights forever before finally resorting to using a flagger (which was absolutely fine). We finally left right after they shut down the pulls because the ambulance and fire truck had to leave for an emergency somewhere else. I really don't know how much more Santana I could listen to over the p. a. system either. It just seemed like such a waste becase there were sooooo many bad ***** trucks, and so little action. Shoulda just skipped the pulls and watched the dyno event.

agree that the music was too loud, annoying and was not muted for the track announcer (who couldn't get it right on more than a few occasions)

but as you said there were so many bad*** trucks, this is what caused the delay in getting them all weighed in and sorted into different classes.

Did you really expect the sled operator and event promoters to jeopardize the safety of the competitors by continuing the competition while the EMTs and Fire/ Rescue was handling another medical emergency at the event?

I want to thank the fine folks at DEPO for bringing this event back.

hopefully todays events went off without a hitch

Jake,

Of course I wouldn't expect them to continue on without the proper safety measures in place. It just happened to be that point when we decided that we had waited long enough. After starting about an hour and a half late etc, it just got a little old. It just seemed like there wasn't much of a sense of urgency when it came to setting up the track, or getting started once the lights didn't work, or even getting the broken tractor off the track. When I was in school, our department would put on sled pulls. We always had a forklift READY to go when someone broke down. It wasnt like some guy had to go track somebody down to get the keys to the lift, and so on. I think I would have had more fun if the dyno event was held right on site too. Anyway, I'm sure they'll have all the issues worked out for next year. I must say that the highlight of my day was seeing maddog and browns race. That was cool.

It was first year project for Borg Warner. They learned a lot on how to make things better next year. I was kicking back and talking to Sam Tuley about the whole thing Sunday Morning. I think they might have been caught a little off guard on the number of trucks that they had to take care of also. I had to help them re-tech on Sunday because they rushed stuff too much on Saturday.

I second seeing MadDog lose was cool too. LOL... . Maybe I am just bias or something like that. Nah, it was a great race and entertained lots of people.
