Hey Darren,

Yes, I have a CB in my FJ40. I've been to Barnwell Mountain. Very mild trails and good to family outings since the trails are so short and easy. I usually go to Clayton or Poteatu, OK to wheel.

Also, been to Tellico (Smokey mountains) and Moab to wheel.

I use my CB in the Cummins when I'm towing and when I travel. Keeps me from getting bored and lets me know where they're hiding.

It's a pretty reliable network for early warning but many times the info is so old it has whiskers. Better than flying blind. A few of us went to Barnwell a couple of years ago to wheel the Dodges. Not too bad but we stayed on the 'bunny trails' as one of us was in a dually. I hear they have more big truck friendly trails now.

Here's the link to Ham Radio Outlet. The folks at the store in my area are extremely helpful and love to spend time with newbies getting them up to speed. If you're interested in ham radio the FCC dropped the requirement to learn morse code, that scared off a lot of people.
