I have an "05" 2500. For now I'm running stock with an AFE Stage 1(no baffles), Turbo Air Guide, Rokk Tech's Camshaft Sensor, and an Aero Turbine 4040 muffler.

In the future I plan on getting some guages, a Super Phat Shaft 66 Turbo and an Edge Juice w/Attitude box. Maybe injectors and a South Bend Clutch for the G56 transmission.

Will the AFE Stage 1 w/TAG be an adequate intake system for these mods? I'm thinking about upgrading to the Stage 2 right now. Is it a good idea? Also want the louder turbo spool. Kind of weary about it because of the boot melting problems with the plastic torque tube on the Stage 2 kit.

Will have to loose the Turbo Air Guide and sell it and my AFE Stage 1 if I make the switch to the Stage 2. Does the AFE Stage 1 or Stage 2 fit hand in hand with the Super Phat Shaft 66 Turbo?

I had the Stage I and metal torque tube oringinally with my SPS66 turbo and I did switch to the Stage II recently. The SPS66 is direct replacement and any air intake that works with stock turbo will work the same with the SPS66.

If that is all the mods you are going to do, I doubt that you will be able to tell the difference between Stage I and II. I don't think I can tell the difference, I just wanted it. If you want more turbo noise, add a metal torque tube to the Stage I. I think my Stage I and metal torque tube turbo whine was louder than the Stage II. Just my . 02.

The TAG will not fit with the hard plastic tube of the Stage 2. You might want to consider upgrading to a Scotty RA5 and Cool Blue hose which you can use with the TAG-III. Another option would be to keep the stage 1 and replace the filter element with a 2-stage foam element from UNI. These filters flow great and are excellent for stopping dirt.

I don't know about that Car nut. I just installed a Scotty air 5 and my EGT went up about 50 to 75deg f. And that is compared to a stock air-box (with holes drilled in the bottom and K&N drop in filter). I sure wish I had my $270 back in my pocket!!! Because it gained me NOTHING!!

The 05 and 06 stock air boxes have a bigger inlet than the earlier years, just not enough for hot rodding.
