Cerberusiam, I didn't state it was a good or bad thing. I just stated that I love the noise it makes. Purely my own PO :) From a technical stand point, if the valves are suddenly closed off from accepting the pressurized air... . it has no other recourse than to escape from other means... ie... flow reversal. Sure, anything can break at any given time, but I'm confident that the DC / Cummins engineers also realized that this effect would, could, and probably will occure buy the users (us :D ), and have made it the best possible for a wide range of probable applications (abuse).

To worry about breakage caused by Bombing leads me to the conclusion that one should leave it stock. All HP freaks from mild to wild, and street to pro will break things. It's the nature of the beast.

And we all want to find out where that line is exactly.

Some of us approach that line cautiously so as not to tiptoe over  , some of us crash thru that line several times until we reach a compromise

I guess that's our nature ... being the beasts that we are. :-laf

Great input!! Thanks a ton! Back to one of my original questions: Why would/could this all of a sudden show up (assuming I didn't miss it right after I did the injector upgrade!)?

My 99 will make a sound when you get the boost up and get all of the way out of the throttle. I have come to the conclusion I beleive its the airfilter bouncing in the box. I dont now if Im right or wrong but to me thats what it sopunds like.

Hunter4x4, what have the average temps done there in the last 30 days? Looking at the climatological maps October in your neck of the woods brings about the largest temp drop of the year. Cooler air means denser air. The turbo can cram more air in possibility creating the conditions for the huffing? How does the white smoke at WOT correlate with the noise? If that just started it sounds like the timing may slipping somewhat and not creating the exhaust flow it used to. Just a couple ideas. Crank in the full power screw and see if it gets worse or better. :)

Jstraw, your right I inferred wrong. My bad, my apologies. Possibly the trail of broken parts I have traversed has made me over cautious. :{ Or I am actually getting smarter as I get older.

Cerb -

Excellent point - average temps have dropped probably 20* over the past month.

As far as the white smoke - I haven't been able to correlate the two.

If I get a chance I'll play with the full power screw. As far as the timing goes, I'm brand new to the injector pump world!! A Cummins friend who's also a (real good!) transmission tech cautioned about turning the pump up on my truck 'til I can get the 165k transmission upgraded somewhat!!!
