hi,new member, have 96 with s&b intake,4"exhaust,75hp injectors. bd adjustable wastegate. How much boost should should i run to get best performance. Truck has 212,000m,trans. is original with no mods. Also, any other next step upgrade suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Is the truck a manual or automatic? That will make a difference in the power it makes. Either way, I'd say 35-38psi (peak) is about the max range for the stock HX35 turbo to be efficient. Higher boost than that just moves hot air, which can actually LOWER your power, as the hot air has less oxygen in it.

I dont know anything about the S&B intakes, but the 4" exhaust is a good start. Get some gauges in there so you can monitor things.

I've got a 97 with 4" exhaust, ATS exhaust manifold, #10 fuel plate, and DDP stage II injectors (75hp). I'm seeing between 32 and 36 psi boost.

Note: if you have an auto transmission, you can expect to start having problems if you start increasing your HP much. It may be on borrowed time as it is.
