Turbo burps when accelerating

So I have an 03 dodge 2500 with a ATS Aroura 5000 73MM turbo and when accelerating onto the freeway when I hit 3rd gear the turbo does that barking or burping sound and I loose boost. Then I just accelerate like normal and boost builds back up. Doesn't happen again after that. Just when I hit that gear. What could be causing this?

Too much turbo, too little fuel, too little exhaust flow, too big an rpm drop equals compressor stall.

My truck did that in pure stock form when I shift under heavy throttle.

We always called it turbo bark. My former 2003 Ram 2500 used to do it all the time when getting into it and when it shifted.
