Three times when towing 10K up a long 6% grade on I-40 I have had the hose blow off the air discharge side of the turbo charger. The first time East bound the hose came nearly completely off with a loud bang and a hiss. I had the Flagstaff dealer reinstall and tighten the hose. It blew partially off that same day! This time I reinstalled it and paid special attention to keeping the hose clamp square to the hose. I had no problem until 8 months later when West bound the hose pulled loose again and I lost some power. That night I retightened the hose clamp as tight as I could. I checked it again the next night and found that I could further tighten the clamp.
The Flagstaff Dodge service manger says that this is a common Ford and Dodge problem.
Any suggestions on how to avoid this problem in the future?
