Today I tightened the clamps on the rubber turbo hose, the air filter hoses and the intercooler connections. Now ONLY on acceleration I get a sound like compressed air coming from the turbo area. Truck seems to be running ok. Never had this sound before. This does not make noise like an exhaust leak, but I don't know if this harmful. I am wondering if the noise comes from air intake into the air cleaner. Thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

If it sounds like a whisle it is most likley a leak on the boost side (between the turbo and the intake). You may have a rubber coupling with a small hole. you might pull your clamps off and inspect each peace of rubber. It shouldn't cause any harme other than maby a loss in power and or fuel milhope this helps and good luck

I get similar sound of rushing air by the turbo, but there are no leaks, its just the air going through the tubes. You can put your hands around the coneection while somebody holds you RPM's up and you will feel a leak if there is one.

I have a high pitched whistle also. It didn't do it until I put on the the boost module and elbow. I thought the hight pitch whistle was the turbo, but now I'm not so sure. Would the little hole in the elbow make the truck whistle? You guys got me thinking I might have a leak some where. The whistle doesn't start until I get over 20lbs of boost. Is this normal or not?

big barney,

Mine whistle's a little even at idle. But I did a soapy water leak check, but didn't have a leak.

Have you ever seen the rubber connections under full boost? With my 275's and PS boost module, when I build full boost, they swell up like baloons. I think someone else had the same problem. When this happens, a very small hole can suddenly become a very large hole. Like EMDDIESEL said, get someone to rev it up while you feel around the black rubber boots or put soapy water on them and watch for bubbles.

There is a fix somewhere about changing the connections with something else (search "intercooler boot fix") Hope you get it solved. Maybe it'll be like mine, just a whistle.
