This has been gone over a time or two I am sure but I can't find it.

Does the number cast into the housing correspond to the size? Is a housing with 14 cast into it a 14cm?

I have a complete turbo which by looking up the label plate data is from a 92 or 93 Dodge CTD but was supposed to have a 16cm housing put on it, it does have 14 cast into it.

If this is a 14 cm how would it work on my pretty much stock 1992 W350?

The housing is not waste gated.

There are others on this 1st gen. forum that know turbos better then I, maybe they will see this thread and give better input.

What I do know is the 89-91 used an 18, 91. 5-92 used a 21 and then the 92. 5-93 went back to the 18. I changed out the 21 on my 91. 5 to a 16 and like it very well. With my fueling I think I would like a 14 even better.

I think you will like the 14 on your truck with your mild mods. With the mods on my 91. 5 the 21 at WOT in neutral showed zero boost. With the 16 I get 5lbs. Under full power it runs 28 lbs. On a local dyno a few weeks ago it ran 263 hp and 708 tq. Considered mild but compared to factory it is fun.

Jeff, that 14 should work great on your relatively stock truck. On my '92 I had mild injectors, some pump mods, and even with a load I had a hard time hitting 1300 degrees EGT.

Is that housing wastegated? Not that that would make much difference in your case--I doubt you'd have any EGT issues even if it didn't have a wastegate.

I bet you'll be very happy with it.

Thanks for the input fellas.

It is not waste gated. I guess I will install it when I get to the engine. I am getting parts together to do the front end, king pins, steering knuckles ect.

Then gauges and onto the turbo and either a 24V air horn or coolertubz.

The IP was turned up slightly (10*????) by the previous owner ahich also installed slightly larger injectors. Not sure of the size (30hp???).

I have opened the stock air cleaner housing up and it has a 3" or 3 1/2" exhaust which I plan on going to a 4" when I start on the engine.

Thanks again.
