My 03 with 95000 miles on it needs a turbo. It is going to the dealer for warranty work tommorow I was just wondering if anybody has had this problem and i was wondering if dodge fixed it. I am guessing that i am going to get the run around when i take it in. I pulled the impeller shaft out with my hand and the fins also. I have peices laying on the floorboard that i recovered from it.

Problem? You got stacked boxes and close to a 100k miles and your wondering why your STOCK turbo is wore out??

Are you serious?:-laf

O Boy!!! you just loaded the entire backup arsenal for the Nay-sayers... This thread is going to get nasty. best prepare yourself...

YOUR LUCKY THE DEALER ISN'T THROWING YOU OUT , WITH THOSE MOD'S THEY WILL TELL YOU THEY ARE NOT COVERING IT , I HAVE A STOCK TURBO SITTING IN MY GARAGE WITH 37,000 MILES ON IT , TOOK IT OFF WHEN I DID ALL MY MOD'S AT MASSDIESEL

truck is stock right now with the exception for exhaust AND GAUGES. AIR FILTER, wheels and tires and all. i have erased all codes in the ecm with the smarty. havent took it to the dealer yet. going to today. will the be any way the will be able to detect what i had on the truck thru diagnostics. ecm has no codes. no wires have been spliced or cut in any way. i want a free stock turbo to maybe sell it. wasent plannin on buying a turbo for another month or so. could the in any link the turbo failure to my K&N oil filter. i heard that the only like to see certain oil filters. again everything appears stock except for the gauges and exhaust at this point. any ideas. thanks guys!!

Is this a joke?

blkdragon go and buy a turbo that going to suit your needs. your oem turbo survived all you mods and abuse be glad it lasted this long. dont try to get the dealer to pay for YOU wanting to play.

dude you are joke, soo letmee guess you didnt have a pryometer installed in your exhaust manifold to monitor your egts right???, well if you did, guess who's going to see it????, THE DEALER!, why in god's good name would you even think you can get a new turbo, the tst box alone is enough to kill, it, you know that you did the damage, you played, soo now you got to pay, i absolutely hate it when guys like you try and swindle the dealers to pay for your wrong doing! your new your truck is modified, the second that box went on there, your warranty for the engine was gone, i work at cummins power systems, i see stuff like this come in all the time, and believe me i know what to look for, the dealers do to, go out and buy a turbo that suits the power mods that you have done to the truck, dont for get to clean out the oil in your charge air cooler, unless you want to buy an engine too. off rant!#@$%!

Its no wonder the manufacturers are so hard to get warrenty on when you have people trying to rip them off with things like this. we all pay with increased costs for vehicles and parts. You are your own warrenty station.

Its stuff like this that is making these trucks to expensive for us honest people!

Edit, How many people in Lancaster will be hitting the dealer this week, with a broken turbo, with parts laying on the floor? You relize Star has to get involved when the tech calls it in for warrantee correct?
the people at Star already read about your mods here! :)

the funny thing was i wa on a long haul back from the mountains with the 392system not on the truck due to a bad harness shipped from glacier diesel, the TSTwas on 1/0 and smarty on #8 going about 70 MPH and max EGT's was 1100 says the commander, dont know how accurate it is. now i am sure the turbo shaft must have had some premature wear while playing around before but this time i was just cruising. the nut was not on the end of the impeller shaft when i took all the pieces out but the threads on the shaft were not stripped indicating the i think the nut backed off. could be wrong. either way i agree in my warrentee should be gone. that is why i have not taken the truck to the dealer under that. now its time for a turbo. but im going to florida for work so it will have to be in about a month. o and tell the people at star i said hello!

not to be a di#k but you got a month. a turbo takes a good hour to replace and 15mins to order. shipping is up to how much you want to pay! so technically you could have a new charger on the truck as soon as wed. /thurs. night. if it's that important. if you broke one YOU WILL break another!!!

Ever tried honesty?

What is the penalty for Felony Fraud in your state? Might not need that turbo in prison - but a tail pipe protector might come in handy.
