I do understand that; that is why I am going with the BD Super B. I am just saying that going to the PDR 35 is an option for me, that would be cheaper, and better than what I have now. My situation hinges on the BD exhaust brake, so for me the cost to go to a S300 is much higher. I have to add the cost of a four inch inline brake and understand that I will lose some braking power.
I have learned that there is no canned answer for upgrading these trucks. I agree completely with what you and some of the others have said, what I am doing is a slippery slope and I might end up, after spending $3,000, wishing I had bought the PDR 35 in the first place. That runs right into what Forrest said; you are not going to get it right the first time, live with it.
For others that have followed these post, the only good reccomendations I can make to you is ask a lot of questions each time you buy one of these expensive upgrades, and then be willing to start sliding. A simple question, I should have asked when I bought my exhaust brake, would have saved me a lot of money, time, work and a real lot of agravation.
However as stated, one upgrade is going to lead to five more. Mistakes will be made, you have to live with them, you can't blame them on someone else and you have be willing to pay for them.
Pick a goal that you will happy with, build to it, and once you have reached it quit. Then again, hobbies are hobbies, all of them are expensive, and all of them get more expensive the more you get into them.
