I went to put my new ttpm on today and when I went to put the boost elbow on I took off the inlet to the turbo and it had a lot of oil on the interior of the housing and the fins. so I took the outlet off and the same thing. Is my turbo shot? I think so. This truck has been a piece of *&#*$ since i bought it new. I have replaced under warrenty the following-power steering pump, all four doors, lift pump three times, injection pump, steering shaft, headlight switch, transmission, brake rotors, brake lines, and now the turbo. I sure wish dodge could build a real truck. I also replaced the shocks and a bunch of other little **** to keep it going. The only thing is all of this happened from 75000 to 86000 miles. so I may as well keep the heep for a few more years, instead of going thru the same stuff with one of their new pieces of junk! But i really do like the ttpm from diesel dynamics. to bad dodge told me if i drive the truck with the turbo like it is they will not cover it if it damages anything else because the told me not to drive it. so off with the boost elbow and on with the stock one till they fix this heep of crap!

I see why you have had issues.

1999 2500 white quad cab sport diesel. loaded, leather. JRE 4" Straight pipe,JRE injectors,K/N Filter,lund luner visor,lund wiper cowl, 35" tires on 16. 5"x10" rims,bushwacker flares, Goerand transmission,tripple disc,air horns,DDTTPM

Gauges anywhere in this package?

All of the following presumes that you did these before the problems started.

K/N helped with your turbo probably

Injectors and DDTTPM helped with your first transmission

Tires may have helped with your steering shaft and pump.

OR - you bought either a Friday before a holiday, or a Monday after truck.

EDIT - Lets consolidate the POS Dodge posts to one thread Here

If you over oil your kn it can get oil all over your turbo. Also it will cover your iat sensor and give you bad mileage so clean that too.

If your turbo is going south it would be a good time to upgrade. Sell that truck. For those that dont know. If you get into a run with a truck. Its most likely not going to stop. There are good ones out there.

sticks,

yes i have gauges and if you looked closer you would see that in the first sentance that i just put the ttpm on yesterday. As for the size of tires I have, been running them on vehicles for the past 10 years-chevy and dodge. This truck is the only one i have had problems with. I love the motor just not the crap it sits in.

New with 100 or less miles?

That is a long list.

The only thing is all of this happened from 75000 to 86000 miles.

So which is it? Since new, or after 75k miles?

i ordered this truck so i am the sole owner. Between 75000-86000 the power steering pump went out, the four doors were replaced because of rust on the bottoms, they said the weep holes were to high causing water to sit in there, the steering shaft was grinding and binding, the transmission went and on the way to get the transmission redone the lift pump went out. that is two lift pumps within these miles. one was replaced at about 30000 miles. I am just glad it is happening under warrenty. of course i had to pay for the transmission. but it is one of the best investments i have made on this truck. Oh i almost forgot the injection pump. This thing is going to be like new after i get the turbo. I just wish the dealer would pay me the difference to upgrade to a better turbo.

My K&N straight out of its original box gave me a turbo oil scare. I thought I had lost a seal when I pulled the intake hose off & found oil all over my impeller blades. . I took alot of q-tips w/ brake cleaner & gently cleaned the blades back to looking clean.

I pulled out the K&N & sold it cheap to someone else that swears by them, and I installed a 35 dollar BHAF from NAPA.

That was 50k miles ago, and its still clean.

That might be your problem w/ the oily turbo like said above.
