I am getting ready to install my ATS exhaust manifold and have some questions.

1. What can I use to hold the new manifold gaskets in place?

2. How difficult will it be to join the 2 piece manifold? How do I?

3. Do I need a new turbo to manifold gasket?

4. Anything I have forgotten?

Thanks for the help!

The gaskets are easy. Bolt up the manifold on two of the top bolts with a gap between it and the head. Slip in on the the gaskets in the other 4 holes and start the top bolt in at the same time. Remove the first two bolt you put in and put the gaskets in there. Tighten all.

Assembling the manifold isn't too bad. Put the male end in the freezer, the female in the oven at about 200°. Wear gloves for removal ;) Slip the two together with a possibly a little tapping and use the old manifold as a pattern. Bolt them back to back to be sure it's flat and properly spaced.

Can't help with the third one, I had a new gasket with the new charger I put on.

Should you see lower EGT's with the new Exhaust man. ???

The third gen exhaust manifolds are not cast well for the flow of cylinders 4 & 5. They work well for a stock truck with a stock turbo but anything more and you should look into replacing it. There was an article in the TDR magazine a couple issues back discussing this and they had some pretty good cross sectioned pictures.

I am going to be installing the TST as soon as I get the manifold on. EGT's were my main reason for doing this, plus it eliminates the stock POS exhaust manifold. My egt's are still going to be a problem until I upgrade the intake side. I just haven't taken the time to order the AFE PG7 yet.
