Turbo Gaskets

Does any one know of a source for the turbine housing to manifold gasket, and the oil return gasket? Not one auto parts store in my area has a listing for them. Is Cummins the only real source for them?

Those gaskets are fairly genetic items. Go to a tractor repair shop, or someone who works on construction equipment. They should keep plenty of them in stock. Big rig shops might have them, but most big trucks use a larger turbo mount.

CaseIH has them, too. For the drain gasket, I have used anaerobic sealant with good results. I also resue my turbo-manifold gaskets once, no leakage. Reuse more than that, and you may get a leak.

No Cummins distributor in St. Louis?? I wouldn't use anything else. Your local Dodge dealer outta be able to get you them too. But I wouldn't waste my time with them.

You could get them from various turbo companies that advertise in the TDR. I don't care for RTV on the drain, but if you do it, be sparing so you don't restrict the drain opening.

Not to nitpick, but I wasnt referring to RTV. I used that once, and had to redo it 10mi later. Anaerobic sealant is in the tubes identical to Loctite, but it says anaerobic sealer instead of thread locker; it is also quite thick. That stuff is the cat's meow; have yet to have any of it leak. I keep my RTV for a few applications, but not many.

It's been my understanding that if you can't locate Cummins parts you don't have an understanding that this engine is used in seemingly HUNDREDS of applications. All that is required is the serial number.
