I am planning on some injector's, larger exhaust and an intake in early April! My question is that I expect my egt's to go up slightly with the injector's and was wondering what I can do to the turbo to keep thing's cooler? I've heard of a larger housing I believe! What size is recommended? Can I buy something pretty cheap or alter what I have with out hurting it? I'm on a tight budget right now and can't afford a new turbo, so I'm going to try and get the most life out of what I have! Thank's :)

If you have the HY 35 you could get an HX 35 for a reasonable price. A 14 cm housing is a good choice for modest BOMBs You can also do some port matching on the exhaust manifold & turbine housing.

Hey Darkhorse, I think you mentioned that you did some porting with a dremel on your's didn't you? I thought you mentioned that when you were repling to my injector question's a few day's ago. How big of a project is that? Also, what would be the performance difference in an HX35 if I could find one. Do any after market turbo dealer's take core's so it's not so expensive to go with a better one! I need to start playing the Lotto! :-laf Thank's!

The instructions for porting are on a pinned thread on the NWB's site: http://www.nwbombers.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=5406

Unfortunately the photos got lost. They are avaiable on some other thread but I don't know exactly where. I used a carbide tip & spent several hours. A die grinder would speed it up considerably. I can't give you figures on the improved flow of the HX over HY spinners but you do go from a 9cm exhaust housing to a 12. The HX also allows you to go to a 14 if need be. You can probably pick up a used one through the classified on this site. I got my DZ from Rip at: http://www.sourceautomotive.biz/

Give him a call & he can answer all your questions better than I can.
