Im woundering if the hy35 exast housing can be opened up larger at the outlet or if going with hx35 is the only option to getting 4" outlet all the way to the end of the tail pipe. TIA Harv

I don't think the outlet on the HX35 is any larger then the outlet on the HY35.

I was doing some reading and the way i get it is the hy has a 9cm housing and the hx has a12 cm2 witch would be right @ 4"Im searching to see if any one has looked in to this it look's like im gona be getting a hx35 and a 4" exast to get it done. Harv

Turbine Size

OK, we need to segregate what the dimensions you have mentioned pertain to.



The dimensions you quoted in your last post refer to the cross sectional area of the turbine housings. This is going to effect the speed with which the exhaust can make its way through the housing and out the exhaust. Bigger housings are less restrictive and decrease exhaust gas temps while dropping drive pressure.



You can find different cross sectional sizes for the hx35 like 14cm, 16cm, but the outlet is going to be the same. You would need to go up to the HX40 to find a turbo that employs a 4" discharge.
