I have a lag in my truck after changing my turbo/injectors.

I tested it to be sure----

1] 0 to 10 lbs. boost-how long at what speed at WOT

18 mph & 3-4 seconds

2] 0-60---WOT time only

7 seconds

You can see my low end lag------3-4 seconds to 18 mph:confused:

-----next 3-4 seconds 42mph:eek:

Can anyone tell me how or what to adjust??????

# 4 plate all the way up, DD3's & HTB2 turbo -62 comp wheel -42 lbs boost

are the changes that I made.

Thanks,

is it rolling smoke like its loading up before it takes off on you?

if that is the case wouldnt that be afc housing and/or star wheel position realated? try backing one or both off a bit. Maybe a different afc spring would help you out.

SRadke,

I agree its not too laggy, but you can see what is going on.

NBowlin,

I backed off the star wheel about 1/2 " from all the way up & the housing is slid back. The smoke isn't a lot due to the turbo which quickly changes it at about 1500rpm. I'm leaning to push both up all the way & retest.

Thanks Guys,

Wayne

i found what Mr Fulmer told me to do in regards to setting up my afc housing.

"use shop air to set it up, see how much air it takes to bottom the arm out in the plate then as you increase it a little more from there it will push the afc back (bolts removed) from full forward to say the middle, with this setting it should be about 25 psi or so, lock it down there, that will allow the gov arm to hit the afc arm so you won't have gov spring bounce but will still allow the arm to be out of the way at full boost so it will ride the plate, you will notice less smoke and it will come on a little better and not so abrupt. Were ever you have your plate at make sure the gov are hit's just above the nose of the plate with the fuel shut off up. "

i hope this helps you out a bit. i did this with a new spring and it made a world of difference.

NBowlin,

Could you be more exact on where to put the air into?

I had TST change the afc springs last summer when they did the 3,00 gov springs.

I seem to think that its close.

Can you do this same test to tell me if I'm close to my goal?

Thank You,

Wayne

Well Petty Officer Fulmer :-laf do share this new found knowledge. You know how the We does this training stuff. You upper chain of command guys are to pass on information to the junior members. ;) ok im done.

Did you make board this time up?

Well beins that you have the spring addressed. On the back othe afc housing there should be an outlet. Unplug the line that is connected to it and rig yourself up a guage and a piece of hose. i used a regulator for oxy/ace with some different fittings in it when i did it, but i am sure you being on the proper side of the world something more purpose build is readily available.
