I had to have my old turbo replaced last week and the new one is not the same ne. The guy that put in in is very trustworthy and said it is a better built turbo longer lasting one and will lower EGT's. He did tell me that it may have some turbo lag that I don't care for and it does. When you gofrom dead stop to WOT it has a good lag When it spools up it gets with the progam and the back tires leave rubber streaks down the road. My Question; how can I eliminate theturbo lag? I have 40hp ,at the back wheeks, injectors installed and the truck is pretty much stock. I'm trying to build a long lsting very depenable truck a little at a time. I don't pull much at this time but in the future maybe a trailer or RV . Thanks all would be appreciated Brian

Assuming you have no air leaks,

Did he replace it with a stock turbo?
Do you know the Exhaust Housing Size. If you have an Automatic, then you had a HY-35. If you now have an HX-35, it has a larger housing, and will take a little longer to spool.

I would say more fuel and timing would help, but if you do not want to invest a lot, I would just ignore it.

Sounds like you do have an auto. . Turbo was a HY-35 fast spooling little turbo but will choke off top end. More than likely replaced with a Hx-35 or holset hyrid turbo. Find out if you have a 12cm or 14cm exhaust housing? Could be a 16cm non-wastegated??
