Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) turbo maps...?

Can someone please tell me why these 2 graphs don't kinda match up with regaurds to the HX55 and 60? I know they are measuring different criteria, but shouldn't they line up a little better then they do?

you want information... well here it is



so, you want to size a seccondary turbo?



well, lets say that you want 1500 CFM (measured at the turbo inlet) and you want that air delivered to the primary turbo at 20 psi.



air has a density of 1. 205kg/m^3 at 20C, or



. 06565 lbm/ft^3 at 68F and one atmosphere (14. 7 PSIA)



20 PSIG means that thr turbo is operating on a PR of 2. 36



1500 CFM means that the turbo will move . 78 kg/sec of air.



so you want a turbo that will move . 78kg/sec of air at a PR of 2. 36 and you want it to do it effeciently.



The HX60 will barely do it!



Is there anything "proprietary" in this post?



NO! All this can be found on the internet!



Disclaimer: My figures are assuming there is no friction etc. etc, and some of them may be incorrect.

Hate to be a stickler, but air has a density of 1. 204 kilograms per cubic meter. @ 20*C. Of course that changes with humidity.

You never know in this day and age who you might miff, even by just saying the sky is blue. Some people like to draw conclusions, so screw them, least I said I didn't mean to tick them off if i did.



I was using the graphs for compairsions sake, and yes I say the HX55w size.



Excellent post by the way. Gotta a different pic? I have seen the maps that they have for you to DL on their website in .pdf form also.

Me do homework? I have done more homework on this in the past year then I have for school. Some is reading OLD posts from sportbike, and my6eatsv8's, and some guy named Archive who sure knew how to raise his post count!
