turbo modifications? waste gate?

1st, I cant tell witch turbo I have( it has a rubber hose on the waste gate actuator )

2nd, can the wastegate be adjusted on this model to increase boost? Ive heard the 2nd gen guys talk about 'turnbuckle'. can this be done on mine? or can the actoator me adjusted?

The reason i ask is when I tow the egt's are high( the limiting factor ) I have to let off to keep them below 1300.

or is my only option a better turbo!!?

Your turbo is a HY35 with a 9 cm housing. It has a mechanical wastegate. You can use a boost elbow to increase boost wich will help to cool egt's to some degree but with the tight turbine housing any boost past 30-32 psi seems to provide diminishing returns. IF you want to try it TST will sell you an elbow.
