Since the fiasco By Majestic a few years ago (balancing the HX-40 shafts, right?) I was wondering if there were different or new ways to modify a turbocharger?

What does Piers do to the ones he sells, anything?

I know J. R. Adkins is famous for what he does, but is it something we can discuss on here?

Just wondering, thanks. :p

ThrottleJockey standin' all aolne in the middle of a ghost town with that lonley breeze sound... ... wwwwoooooooooowwoooooooo... . !

Nobody, huh? Buncha chickens. ;)

Okay, I'll start... . Well, Throttle, you can mix and match the housings and compressors(hybrids?)

Put on a bigger or smaller pinwheel?

Balance the shafts?

Port and polish?

Hello? Is this thing on??? :D

I don't know nuttin 'bout modifying turbos... . but I don't care who you are... that's funny.

Pius has closed down his shop in stockton and moved to oregon and gone into semi retirement. sticking mostly to people who need 150 lbs boost plus. I use to do fuel inj. work for him as well as he did turbo work for me, i"ll miss having him in my area.

Yeah not too many secrets here huh?

I guess all the guru's out there must be out in their shop mixin up some kind of majic super combo turbo using triple stage Hair Driers for the pre-pre-charge

What's the deal guys?

I want more info too :-laf

I talked with Pius a week or so ago and they are still in the process of moving. He didn't sound to me like he going to be any less involved with his work on turbos. Although they cannot currently produce anything, he hoped to be up and running in a few weeks.

Maybe he plans to start slowing down?

you're not going to get any of the turbo guys to show you what's behind the curtain... there's LOTS of R&D that goes into building those things... figuring out what wheels and housings fit the parameters.

and even if you to tear into one and figure out what wheels they're using, after buying the parts, doing the necessary machine work, and balancing it, you really don't save much money.

I've been down that road w/ the Turbonetics stuff... they just use garrett wheels...

in the diesel world it's holset stuff on the HX's and all your "B" variants (B1, HTB2, B2 Bomber, etc. ) are Schwitzers... S300 housings and center, but who knows where the turbine and compressor wheels are coming from

but like I said, I've torn down turbonetics turbos and priced out building one, and I only saved a couple hundred bucks and had no warranty.

it's all OEM stuff... they're not casting compressor wheels in the back yard. but you're not going to get anyone to cough up any proprietary info. they've got too much time/money in R&D. I've spent countless hours messing w/ various turbos, and I'm sure the big names have spent 100 times the time/money I've spent!

:{ :{ :{ :{ :{ WAAAAAAAAA !!!!

Need info! Oo. Why all the crickets?

We're not lookin to start marketing super-stealth triple stage heat activated hair driers here... ... :(

Just need some cold hard facts. :D :D

Yeah, you said it RacinDuallie! I wonder if Pius would be willing to spill the beans on all the juicy info pertaining to 149 psi and below? :D He could keep all the 150 plus psi stuff for his clientle...

Dang Forrest! I hate when you speak the truth! Now I'm all depressed.

Then we got that boob Gale Bunks spoutin' off on tv about his VG turbo and that 222 mph Salt Flat run... ... knows dang well he stuffed a set of twins in that bad boy for that run! Wasn't no pictures of him poppin' that hood for photos AFTER he set that record... ... . " What? That? No, no, that's not a HT4B! It's a... it's a... . a SNOWCONE maker! Yeah! You guys look thirsty to me... . we are in the Salt Flats. .

Somebody give up a little on those new ceramic composite exhaust housings and titanium roller bearings, like 'Spy Shot' in Road and Track magazine!

Titanium zero balanced shafts and wheels with virtually no weight for instantaneous spool up!!!

Air impingement compressor housings with dual chambers and dual wheels for maximum compression at ice cold temps... !

Jeez. I'm droolin' :p

You know I called Banks or is it YANKS? I was inquire-ing about the Sidewinder Truck and more than half the people that I talked to didnt even know they had a truck like that!! Well after calling and recalling I finally got to speak to Sheldon Tackett. I was reallt trying to find out if I could purchase a cylinder head and the manifold that they designed for the 24 valve... ...

Well to say that my request went like I was the I. R. S. asking to see their books!! #@$%!

There was no way that they were gonna release something like that out their doors... .

If that is the case then why go out and promote their bonneville record if the general public cant have the opportunity to purchase their parts too?

I was told that they have no idea what kind of price to put it at...

I told them to name the price cause I want to order one up right then.

RESPONSE: Duhhh we'll put you on the list and if we start to market these we'll call you

YEAH RITE!!!! :-laf :-laf
