I am building a 94 12v with mild cam, ported head, 5 angle valve job, heavy springs, o ringed head, 4,000 rpm, large fuel plate,191 delivery valves,390 hp marine injectors, turned up timming not shure how much yet?,arp head studs.

Question is what turbo do I need to acheve 50-60 psi and be reliable and safe, with least amount of lag? truck is mostly street with some sled pulling and trailer towing at most 15,000 pounds. Also decient egt's ?

Talked to Industrial Injection they recomened their 62 series and a 66 if i pull my trailer like i stole it. they said their single turbo's will be as good or better than most twin setups?

Who has these on their trucks? and is it what you'd want if you could do it again??

Thanks Brian

Unless you have marine pistons, I'd suggest you get something like a set of DDP Stage 4s. They have the correct spray pattern for the pistons, and EGTs will be about the same, with more power.

Don't need that much boost, necessarially. You need air flow. Larger tubos will have lower boost numbers than a smaller one, given the same fueling, but move more COOL air.

My setup works great on the street, but the EGTs are a problem towing over 55 mph.

You aren't gonna need 50-60 PSI with a 175 pump and those mods, even less if you have a 160 pump.

There's a thing catching on because HTT redesigned their SP66 wheel, it's the 66mm combined with the smaller 12cm turbine housing. I've done a good bit or research, people seem to have surge with the 64/12 combo but surprisingly not the 66/12. And a 66/12 would be killer for towing, should keep huge HP cool. The dual port wastegate seems to allow the 12cm housing still flow very well up top but maintain low EGT's while towing. 45 PSI boost from a SP66 should keep your setup cool easily, if not the turbo is still good to about 50.

I also agree about the injectors, not sure if you meant 370's but DDP3 or DD3 injectors are the same HP as 370's and EGT's are atleast 100 degrees less because of the correct spray pattern. Personally as someone else mentioned I would go with DDP4's to elp make up for the fact you only have a 175 pump and not a 215.

On the timing I'd go about 18 degrees.

I've got a PS62-14 on my 8,040 pound dually. . It pulls a trailer great, and clears up fuel nicely. It's my daily ride, tows equipment-toys, and ran a 13. 52 in the quarter. . With more fuel, I'm sure it would have more potential. My smoke clears up shortly off the line. .
