Does anyone know where I can get a new 4" exhaust pipe to elbow clamp for an 04. 5 CTD, My dealer is no help... Maybe a P/N or I can call Cummins, what should one cost??

Find another dealer...

I lost the bolt to mine... my dealer was able to procure one with almost no input from me. I want to remember it was $45? They should be able to bring up a picture of the exhaust and find it that way.

yeah, this dealer told me I had to buy an elbow, then buy a turbo, then he said it would be $100, I thought that was a bit much, I thought about calling Cummins Atlantic??

I replaced mine a few months back. Got it from Cummins for around $40. TDR member mwilson was able to give me the part number, i don't have it in front of me and don't recall what it is. I'll try to look it up when i get home. It's out there though. I gave up on asking the dealer for parts years ago. The local guys here are schmucks.

You can get it anywhere really. . OTR truck dealership or service center, online... doesn't even have to be a Cummins dealer... JD, Detroit, Cat... anybody.

bcbender,

First thing is to find a new dealer as mentioned above. I have access to a limited Mopar/Dodge on-line catalog from a vendor and found that clamp in the Dodge system using my '06 VIN in about 5 minutes not really knowing what I was doing sitting in my den. Unreal... ... .....:mad:

Item 15 mentioned above would be turbo to elbow connection clamp. That would be 3535399 which supercedes to 4089833.

But I think what you are asking for is the elbow to exhaust pipe clamp. That is different and not pictured in the turbo breakdown shown in the link.

Dodge number for that clamp is 52121285AA. Looked it up and also went out to the garage where I had a spare from putting my Jale Brake on and that is shown on that clamp so I trust the number.

Checked Cummins Quickserve, no dice with vin or without. Scratched head for a minute, then remembered that 2 spares came with Jake Kit, one for the turbo and one for the pipe. Dug out parts list and that shows a Cummins Number of 4920021 for the elbow to pipe connection. Checked my price tape and it is still a good number and would sell for about $30. 00.

So that should get you going, if you have any more questions let me know. Check your Dodge Dealer if you want, they look to be in the $30. 00 to $40. 00 range but depends on your dealer... ...

To Recap, Header pipe to turbo outlet clamp is... .

Cummins # 4920021

Dodge # 52121285AA

Yes, there are several ways to get them and everybody uses them.

R. G Ray Company manufactures many of the V-Band clamps in use today.

If not using a serial number or specific engine manufacturer when shopping for a new one then you just have to match the diameter of the clamp, then check the pitch and width of the inverted vees built inside the band to the old clamp so as to have the proper clamping force when tightened to specification.

Have seen complete turbos and pipe sealing flanges ruined over time on big engines because the proper clamp was not used, then things can leak, move and wear.
