:confused:My dodge 3500 4x4 turbo goes into free spool mode as soon as i hit 2300 rpms. Up till 2300 rpms it works perfectly fine but as soon as i rev past that there is an instant drop in power . Any advice ?

Its 2006 manual 3500 quad cab dually 4x4 completely stock except for a chip and , 19. 5 commercial rim setup. It only happens when you pass 2300rpms on the tachometer. Anything below that it runs fine .

What exactly does that mean?:confused:

Depending on what mod you have and what elses has been done boost is going to level off at about 30 psi in that area of rpm. Are you hearing something thyat makes you think it is in "free spool"?

Does the same thing happen when it is stock? Gauges? What is boost, Pyro, rail pressure doing when this happens?

The 06's have a record of bad ECU's causing all sorts of issues right in that rpm range; power loss, popping in the exhaust, high EGT's, etc. Could be you have a pooched ECU or something simpler like needing a boost fooler. Maybe loosing rail pressure due to a bad LP or even plugged fuel filter. A collapsed air filter will exhibit the same symptoms. Have you checked all the filters and verified they are good?

Really need a better description of the problem and comparisons from stock to modded. Gauage info would be most helpful also.

Please clarify " free spool". One could take that as though the rpms climb, boost drops, truck slows, which could sound like clutch slipping.
