I just had the outlet pipe from the turbo blow off. when looking in the pipe it is completely covered with black gook.

does this mean that the intercooler is clogged, and my turbo is about to kick the bucket.

or can I reconnect the pipe and continue on my way

I did see some oil down in the turbo when I shown a light down in the outlet pipe, it was not much probably equal to 3 -4 drops. I will pull the inlet hose this morning and see what we have there.

In the unfortunate event that it is your turbo I have an HX-40 that's in good shape. What year etc is your truck? PM me if interested.

If there's oil it could just be a bad seal but you never know. Do you have an oiled air filter? Good luck.
