Turbo Question

Hey Y'all,

I was on my way to the Indiana Fair and I passed a 05ish 3500. Once I passed him he got on it and it sounded great. I pulled up next to him and asked why his sounds alot better than mine. He said that he had 5" pipe from turbo to tip. Then he said he took something off his turbo. I just said sounds good and went on my way.





Does anyone have a clue what he might have took off his turbo???? I think a seal or something????

How would one remove that and will it hurt anything???

There is a ring that retains it, and no it wont hurt anything to remove.

Oh and one more question, Where is this located at and how do I remove it???

It is located at the inlet of the turbo. Remove the intake tube that connects the air filter box to the turbo first. Then you will see a ring held in place by a snap ring in the inlet of the turbo. Pop the snap ring out using a couple of small flat blade screwdrivers and then you can pull the silencer ring right out.
