I have a non intercooled 90 and a 93. The exhaust housings look the same outwardly. Are they the same interior volume? How can I check?

They both should be 18. 5cm. On the housing there are numbers in the casting on the side that's facing the firewall. The numbers are on the fat part of the housing right next to the flange that connects to the exhaust manifold. You'll find either "18. 5" or "21". To see the numbers, you'll need a mirror or you'll have to climb up on top of the engine and look down. FWIW, the number is referring to the cross sectional area of the turbine housing inlet port in units of cm^2. Also, the housings are interchangable with no modifications.

Thanks, Sean.

I notice in your sig line that you have an Old Smokey air filter housing. What can you tell me about that. Is it similar to those that the 2nd Gen run?

Phil

Phil,

The air filter mount is quite different than those on the 2nd gens. I got it because I switched to a BHAF and the OldSmoky mount provides for a clean installation.

Sean

Here's a pic of it installed in my truck:
