Engine stalling......

Howdy to all in TDR Land;
I got a situation. With my Hot PE and 275s I have some high egts. In fact, I'm waiting to break the needle off of the Isspro pyro #ad
! I have a 4 inch exhaust. I added a DDTTPM set on only timing, that dropped my EGTs a little and gave me 1. 5 to 2 mpg to boot! My Scotty is on order. On stage one of the PE, I have no problems. On stage two it gets up to the high area ~1100 degrees. On stage three... "Hold on to your head Fred!"

Now for the questions. Comparing a 16cm. HX35 to a 16cm. HX40. Which will have a better drop in the EGTs? Which will spool up quicker? Which can handle more boost? (I can hit 44 or 46 lbs. with my 12 cm HX35- I know I'm over speeding it).
I know that any 16cm won't spool up as quick as my 12 cm. , but I can always reset my DDTTPM to give fuel at 2 psi. Of course, that might give more smoke #ad
, wouldn't that be a shame!
Thanks guys;
Josiah

BigUgly, you might want to call Lawrence at DD and talk to him. When I bought my HX-40 last month, they had just started offering the compressor side upgrade for the HX-35. I mulled this over for a while and decided that since most of my "hot-rodding" was going to be at highway speeds, I'd rather have the reduced back pressure of the larger exhaust turbine. EGT's stay less than 1300 with fueling box off. If it's on and set over the halfway point I can get over 1300 within 20-30 seconds of WOT. As far as smoke goes, with the fueling box off, TTPM on setting #2 (fueling only over 20 psi), and at boost pressures less than 10 psi, I can create a pretty good haze of smoke if I get on it. However, same scenario with the fueling box on, I can make everything behind me disappear #ad
which of course is good for tailgators, bad for everybody else.

Big Ugly,

The HX40 has a larger outlet on the turbine as you may know. This will improve exhaust flow and intern help egt levels. The HX40 has a sweet compressor as well, and the combo is the best performance turbo I've seen thus far. It is necessary to use a wastegated housing to control your boost level and prevent stressing the HX40 to the failure zone #ad
