So as i posted in another thread, my turbo is leaking oil out the back and making noises and I have lost power and white smoke after coming back to idle.

I found a guy that has a like new turbo off an 04. Would this bolt up to my 12 valve? It has says comes complete with actuator , wastgate & exhuast elbow. The guy says he pulled it off within 1000 miles of buying the truck so it should be like new.

I don't think so. From what I have read, the 3rd gen's turbos do not work well in 2nd gens, esp 12 valves.

The Exhaust housing is smaller, 9cm instead of 12 cm of course you could put a bigger housing on.

If you can afford it I would check in to aftermarket ones there are quite a few out there that will do the job better than the oem turbos (check the advertisers in the TDR mag and check out their web sites or give them a call).

you could make it work, but that would get expensive. those turbos are smaller overall and cant handle as much power. it would probably be best to find a salvage yard and find a true 12 valve turbo.
