Turbo rebuild

Okay, I posted a few weeks ago about my turbo leaking oil through the turbo into the intake. Now my question is, what are the chances that I can get a seal kit for the turbo and replace all of the seals and that is all it takes? Or does it really take a complete rebuild, i. e. send it out to someone who does this on a daily basis?



I'm leaning towards finding a seal kit and trying that. Any reason why I shouldn't?



I'm not interested in a turbo upgrade. If I wanted a hot rod, I'd have a deuce coupe in the garage. I just want to fix the turbo I have and go on.



Opinions?

You might also check out craigslist or e-bay for a used one. I just saw one on craigslist the other day for $150

I re-built mine it was fairly easy, I downloaded Holesets manaul off the internet.

It was very easy to follow from disassembly to inspection and then reassembly. I bought my re-build kit from G-Pop Shop, they are on the internet also, about 80 bucks.

Thanks for the replies. I found G-Pop shop online last night. I think I might give them a call today.



The one thing I am having a hard time with is the type. Holset's website says it is an HE341 but the only service manual they have for this type of turbo is a VG type. I've found info that indicates that the HE341 off of the 2003 Ram and an HY35 are the same. Is this true?
