If I pull my turbo to drill and tap the manifold for a thermocouple, will I need any gaskets? Looks like they're all metal. I've reused metal gaskets on motorcycles with no problems. Just spray them with some spray paint.

Also, the thermocouple came with a 1/8" NPT and a 1/4" NPT fittings. Does the 1/4" have any advantage over the 1/8"? If not I'm going with the 1/8"

Thanks,

Scott

Go ahead and replace it to make sure. Only something like $3. When I installed my HX-40, I had to replace the gaskets. The one between the turbo and the manifold had been leaking a bit on the bottom. Never noticed it before-hand.

I used the 1/8" npt fitting on mine. If you goof that one, you can go to the 1/4" npt fitting. ;)
