After getting the ok from Robert about how to word this, here goes, I have a couple of prototypes built that are ceramic coated for replacement of the silencer tube on the H/O engines in the 03's. For those of you that don't know The ceramic coating insulates the part and this particular coating looks about like polished aluminum. I still need to decibel check them before and after and will have a photo of them on the truck to show what they will look like. What I am asking for is what kind of demand for this part would be and how many of you guys might be interested in such a part. I will also have a billet aluminum eliminator done within the next couple of weeks. I am estimating the price of the eliminator to be $55 for the steel coated part and as I say the aluminum one is in the works so I don't know quite yet what it will cost, but It will be more. Next is a billet valve cover top. Please e-mail with input.

2nd day of ownership i xed ring and broke the baffles out of the mystery tube with a hammer and cleaned it out real good with compressed air to make sure i didnt tear up my turbo! it has a perfect whistle not obnoxious at all, perfect.

I will take one. And if you are at the powder coating place out in Waverly I would love to come out and take a tour and see how that is done! :D

Eliminator

My digital camera will not take a low enough quality image to meet the maximum fire size allowed. Send me an e-mail address and I,ll send you a picture. Sorry

I might be interested, but am not yet. . I am waiting to see how complete the AFE intake kit is. If it doesn't replace the silencer tube, I'd be in, but for now I am waiting. .

post a pic... I want to take a look at this.

I made something like this a couple years back... ... the only thing it did was make the turbo bark more violent.

That would not work that well to promote airflow! :D :p

The pic is on my webspace and they are moving locations yesterday and today. ;) Here's the pic:

hmm not what I was thinking you made... . looks interesting. will take a look at my room mates '03 and see what the OEM piese looks like.

I have it on mine. Between the AFE filter element and the unit, I can finally hear my turbo. It is not real loud though, it is more like my 2000.

Finally did mine... .

First day from the dealer removed the silencer ring - increased turbo noise but not hugely noticeable unless you knew what to listen for.

Just added the geno's eliminator pipe - definitely more noticeable. Someone on here had a comment that it sounds closer to a jet engine than it does a diesel engine. With the windows down and some sound reflection, I would agree.

Also added a drop in AFE filter to complete the intake work for now. I haven't noticed a large difference with the filter but I am glad to remove the intake restriction of the factory filter. People talk about drilling holes in the bottom of the airbox to help with flow so that may be next. If I drill it, I will make sure that the hole is of size that will let me plug it up with PVC if I need/want to.
