I was on youtube and saw several Ram 2500 owners either removing the turbo silencer or the entire intake baffle and silencer system! I am curious is this advised or not and does it make a difference other than sound?

4th gens are all about hearing the upgraded sound system, not the Cummins.

I actually don't have the upgraded stereo. But it is the best stock stereo system I have actually ever heard. There was a 500 watt upgraded stereo option. But this stock system is better than the 700 watt Rockford Fosgate (OEM) one that was in my mitsubishi

I assume the foam was installed to absorb most of the oil vapor from the CCV & keep most of it from the Turbo.

I figured every 20-30K miles I would remove the whole thing & soak it in a 5Gal bucket of hot water & dawn for a hour or 2 then rinse then air dry & reinstall.

Removing the baffle and the foam brought a very faint hum/whistle in my '16. We need to have the radio almost off and no visiting in the cab to hear anything.
