Turbo silencer ring?

What is a turbo silencer ring, what do it do and how do you take it off??? will it make the truck sound like a Kenworth?

Try this... .
Choose "search" from the small link in the upper right corner of this page. In the "Search Words" field type; "silencer ring" (without the quotes). In the "Search Forum/Archive:" field choose; "24 Valve Engine and Drivetrain(1998. 5-2001)" from the pulldown menu. In the "Search By Date:" field choose; "Any Date" from the pulldown menu. Click the "Perform Search" button at the bottom of the page. By now you should have 200+ hits (maximum returned) on the request. Not all titles will have "Silencer Ring" in the title, however, it is at least in the text of each of the messages.
