Remove the hose on the front of the turbo, you will see what looks like a snap ring set in a groove. VERY GENTLE remove the snap ring with a small flat blade screw driver and the silencer ring which is held in by the snap should come right out.
Hang it (snap ring and silencer ring) on the garage wall and go take a drive after you reinstall the hose back on the front of the turbo. Mine has been on the wall for over a year and thats where it is going to stay. .
Oh yeah, turbo spooling up is an awesome sound. I took mine out a year ago and I like it. I have a KN also. I have heard the psychotty setup is good. The whistle is more audible with the psychotty, so I have heard.
