I have 06 3500 DRW. One like to know what is the better air intakes kits. Also missing the compression sound from my turbo. Would Love you to get that back what can be done. Thanks

Will you elaborate about silencer. Are you saying stock air filter and intake is the best. I've been looking at air raid intake with MIT. Would for my 06 to have the sound of my 06. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

The silencer ring in the turbo inlet is what stops a whistle, along with other things like a closed air system. A big open filter will make more noise, thats about it. If you are not careful you could end with worse filtration not better. The location of the box and the TQ tube size makes the stock system flow pretty well. The air systems are prtty much just bling on 99% of these trucks.

For filtration and performance the stock system is quite good with a cold air duct or holes in the bottom of the stock box and the 4" pleat air filter. Until you go past 500 HP can't see a difference on the dyno.

I went to the Ford Nationals at Carlisle on Saturday. I now know how K&N stays in business- I saw literally thousands of their filters at that event.

I just took the ring out yesterday. So far I like the whistle, but it is not what I am looking for.

Really liked how my stroked whistled both on and off the throttle. Wonder what the difference is?

What does it take to remove the ring. My 06 is barely audible compared to how my 02 used to "sing" to me.

I have a Garrett Stage II on my 03 and it "sings", some times a bit too much for me. My air filter system is stock Dodge but from a 6.7 but for other reasons than air flow. David
