Thunder in Muncie meets TDR Nationals in 2003!

In Issue 38, we discussed preliminary plans for a series of technical seminars and a vendor showcase in a gathering at Columbus, Indiana. The timing was scheduled to precede a big diesel drag-race event in Indianapolis (the US Diesel Pickup Truck Nationals) the following weekend. Using this dual event format would perhaps validate long-range, have-to-be-there travel plans.

Unfortunately, the drag-race event to be held in nearby Indianapolis was moved back to its original location in Muncie, Indiana. The bottom line is the difference between big city and small town - the sled pull competition could not be scheduled at the Indy venue, but the Muncie folks were more than willing to work with Eric.

Unfortunately, the Muncie location proves to be too far north for the dual event logistics. Thus, Turbo Tech 2003 has been postponed.

As Eric and the drag-racing community work toward a big, all makes, championship-type race, we will work to feed the event with a turbo-tech type gathering. Texas in the Fall anyone? Stay tuned for further information.

The Muncie location seemed great. After all, we pretty much took over the town, smoked em out, and many other things, and I didn't hear of anyone getting rousted. And the restaurants/waitstaff seemed decent

from a spectators point of view, it seemed to work.
