1250 is ok if not for long distances,1300-1400 in short bursts is not uncommon,over that is very risky. For daily driving its good to try and stay under 1000.

You can run your turbo as hot as you want... . it's the Pistons that will melt on you!!

Its good to know that these temps should be measured preturbo also.
