I have a 2002 2500 4wd ctd , bought it brand new only 91000 original miles . Upgrades are as follows .
Remanned vp 44 hot rod , MBRP 4 inch single to duel exhaust , Quadzilla Adrenalin tunner , Air dog II fuel system , Banks High rise air horn , and installed just this weekend a new Suncoast stage III trans . Im looking to get around 500 HP so i figgerd put the horse before the carriage on major HP and get a bullet proof trans first . So with all that said , and all the millions of forums and opinions out there ??? Like i said before looking to get in the 500 HP range so the next and desparetly needed upgrade is what dose everyone recommend for a sweet balance between a turbo and injector upgrade ? I feel its the last thing I need to do to achieve my goal of 500 Hp ? Again there are so many opinions out there its hard to choose . Since I put in the new trans I have a lot of turbo lag ? I went with the triple disk suncoast converter with a 1800 rpm stall speed , its the lowest they offer . After the first test drive , maybe 75 miles I jumped on the pedal half way and shortly after heard a funny sound from my stock turbo ??? still has a lot of power and the intercooler boots are fine no tears or loose clamps . When I got back to my shop I pulled of the air filter boot/hose and felt the shaft end play . There was maybe 20 to 40 thousands of end play on the shaft , up and down . Didnt seem to bad and the shaft spins nice and free . My guess is from the other forums is 100 too 125 hp injectors would be a good place to start ? but the amount of after market turbos out there are endless ?? Any opinions or ideas on a good match between injectors and turbos to get me to my goal would be so appreciated . PS im just getting familiar with the turbo specks 62/64/12 ? but im not quite sure on that yet ? I have heard a lot of good and bad on the BD super b ? Same thing on the Phat shaft ? Ive got so much money and time invested into my build , but my specialty and career is in the marine field / boats . Im good with diesels but need some advice / help in finishing my truck to where I want it to be ? thanks guys sorry for the long post .
