My friend just put a 66/14 on his 12 valve and he has a hx35/40 he took off. Does anyone think that will be too much turbo for my 93 with POD's, gov spring and turned up pump? I have a hy35 off a 2002 and love the way it runs on the bottom. I have to work real hard to get the EGT's above 1300 right now.

Any input would be greatly appreciated

No it wouldn't be too much. I have a sp66-14 with EDM's, but did have POD's with it. You have the hy35 now? What size turbine housing? That 35/40 would do good with a 16 housing.

I have the Hy wastegated @ 35psi... . the engine is in a 59 Apache Suburban and doesn't wiegh too much 5800 lbs after swap couple years ago... . I'm not saying its the fastest thing around but my buddies 97 12v std is finally catching up to it after allot of mods. when I pull (not very often) it will get up to temps pretty quick. I think I'll bolt it on early next week just to see how it works since it'll be a direct bolt on

Talk about a big smile on my face... put the HX35/40 on today... . it will spin the tires(both) anytime you want to in second... will keep it going in third and in forth I think I found the limits of the stock Dodge clutch... . I need to find bigger hills to get my EGT's up... do you know of anyone else with a cummins in a lighter rig? even with the Gov springs as one of my friends said its like driving a rally car. whats next. . even bigger injectors? BTW the fuel screw is now bottomed out but I have to shift so quick that the EGT's never get above 1200 with boost getting to 35 ..... wish my speedo was more accurate we estimated a 0-60 in 7 sec... .

D250's weigh in ~5600-5800lbs. My W250 with 240lbs of me in it, weighs in at 5850lbs or so.

What's next? How much do you want? How far do you want to go?:D:D

After a few days of Driving I really like the larger turbo. the old HY boost came in so quick and flattened out, used to run 12-15 psi at 55 now its about 5 psi. The topend power is great I had to take a side trip so I could run up Donner Summit. I've either have to regear or get larger tires. The highest EGT I could make was 1200 @35psi going up the summit.

That's a really cool rig and a very uncommon swap, i've always liked driving something different than the mainstream. :)
