I have an 04, 4x4, dually,6spd, edge ez, 5" straight pipe ,255x70x22. 5's, tag, and drop in afe. I tow about 20-30k mi a year (10k lb) and drive unloaded about another 50k mi a year. The edge is just not enough for me! I am now lookin into a new larger turbo (twins are just out of the budget). Aside from being able to move a larger volume of air, which in turn will cool down my EGT's. Dose the extra(boost) air volume actually create more horsepower? Or, is it the extra fuel ect. that a box provides that is actually creating the horsepower and the larger turbo is just making this able to drive on a daily basis safely? I am not really sure what direction to go. I know I want a turbo that will spool quickly under a load. But, with all the options available I am not shure which would be best? I have heard along with the the many options I already have to choose from that Holeset is comming out with some larger variable vane turbos?? Is it possible to run a large single and tame the temps created by the all mighty and powerful TST? How about the new Bully downloader? Will a water injection kit get me in to the safe range? Also any recommended clutches to go with this would be appriciated too! Any estimates on how many ponies a set-up like this will produce?

Thanks in advance!!

p. s. I already tried searching, it is hard to pinpoint what you are lookin for!

Fuel makes HP. Boost just cools the combustion burn. The only way a turbo will make HP is if you are overfueled for the amount of air in the engine, and getting a turbo that will flow more air.

Id look into a B1-04, good spoolup, 100% drop in, good cooling.

As for the other boxes, ive heard that the BD downloader has less fuel in the higer RPM range than the TST but more bottom end. (thats the old program though).
