 I have a 97, TST#11, 4", 275hp injectors, need to know what turbo would work well. i plan on uprgading to a #10 plate and possibly 3k or 4kGSK soon. I have a Pac Brake and HD ex springs. Right now she gets pretty hot when towing. need to complete all mods by mid may for round trip from Anch Alaska to Trinidad CO.

I'm building a hybid hx35 with hx40 compressor housing, 6 blade 60mm wheel and using a 16cm2 turbin housing, hoping to keep the egt's down. I'm running a #11 plate and 370's in a 98. Try Jeff at Advance Diesel Service in Anch.

I also had the #11, with injectors ... towing. Yes, it got toasty, especially with the #11 3/4 or all the way forward. I went to the HX40 & EGT dropped way low. It left room for tons more fuel.

AKTRAPPER:

I agree with Forrest! I also have used the Piers HX-40/16

on my 1996 Dodge CTD for the last three years and am very

happy with it! As Forrest said, the HX-40 will cut your EGT's

substantially and give you alot more power. I saw a 27 RWHP

increase going from the stock HX-35/12 to the Piers HX-40/16.

Piers also offers an 18cm exhaust housing but IMO that housing

is a little too large. I tried it and the bottom-end "lag" was too

bad so I switched to the 16cm housing.

Here is Piers phone number is you are interested:

1-866-888-9396.

You can also go to his website to read up on the turbo.

He has a well written article on it. www.piersdiesel.com

Hope this has helped you some.

I did the HX35/40 hybrid from htturbo, also. It works extremely well with my configuration. I don't think Piers HX-40 will work with the PAC-brake without an adapter. (I could be wrong, though. ) I also run in valet mode when towing. It keeps my EGT's below 1000* when towing.

I used the PDR 35 to keep from having to buy a new exhaust brake and it work great with the 16cm nonwaste gate housing. My EGTs are not an issue when towing except on long steep hills then I have to watch them. See sig for mods.

16cm turbine

Do those of you who have the 16cm non-wg turbine, do you have problems spooling down the compressor before shutdown? I would think due having no wastegate the wheel would spin faster than one with a WG and take longer to spool down and cool down before shutting the engine down. Anyone have a good explaination..... ?
