turbo wast gate

I have 04 Cummins with electronically operated waste gate, the wires was burned by fire and I don't have any idea where they have to be connected. Or where they coming from I have to make new ones any bode know what pins on the computer they go picture will help too.

is this the oe replacement turbo for your year? We have plugs to replace that solenoid, and there are resistor plugs to keep you from getting codes if its not hooked up.

no the turbo is original OEM, but I can't find the original engine wiring harness so I have install other not supported with the electrical plug for the turbo and missing lug for the fan clutch, this is just the start to trouble shooting my problems, temperature gauge is on max, air bag intermittently blinking, engine light on, brake light on, ABS light on, I have feeling computer is toasted too from the fire.

I don't even have the wires where to plug the resistor out from the computer it a good idea I'm in the process to find the right engine wire harness the I see what is next.

any one know the part numbers for the engine wiring harness 2004.5 both or the parts with the large connectors on them to the computer

i cant help with the part # and i think you are going to have problems if you do not get the proper harness but pin b of the solenoid gets 12 volts from pin 26 of plug c5 on the tipm that is from fuse 36. the a pin is from pin 1 of plug c1 of the ecm. you can use a 147 ohm 2 watt resistor between the two points to fool the ecm but without signal the wastegate is fixed at 20 psi, i can give you instructions on how to modify the solenoid to make it adjustable or you can add spring tension to raise it to 33 psi and there is two other options.

thanks for the reply this will help perhaps, where are the plug c5 and c1 located, if you have pictures that would help, I will try this, can you give me the correct part number for the wiring harness, also the fan clutch is not connected, because the wires are missing you have any idea where thy coming from like you give me instruction for the waste gate.

Hi I find the waste gate wires are like you said and the battery is actually connected on pin 11 so I inserted wires and still no response from the throttle I have feeling is the computer one thing get fixed with this the temperature is normal, now I need the wires for the fan clutch where they go on what pins let me know

I get the proper harness and it revs good but hesitates and when releasing gas pedal it take time to go idle I think now I need new ECU

Na that is the normal behavior of first time commonrail engines, they go down in steps when you rev them up.

So you don't need an ecu.

the strange thing is compare my other older 2001 truck it revs and engine settle down very quickly, other thing I noticed when put to drive gear there is no power only on revers little bit more, my 01 can spin and throw black smoke like locomotive when starting.
The engine light is on and air bag time to time flashing and when I turn the truck off the head light stay on I have to disconnect main power on the side of fuse block. So I think the ECU is the problem.

Headlight has nothing to do with the ecu, it controled by the fcm.

with a broken headlightswitch it will stay on by default.

2001 is completly different to 2004, a crd will never throw black smoke until you modify it.



Mil on with engine off is also default.


only the flashing airbag light is unknown to me, use a decent scanner to examine the electronic bugs

Ok I try to replace FCM I have one not sure if good kame with fuse block and wiring harness

Most is fixed only couple of errors I can live with P1652 and P0628,
Now I need help with the dash the speedometer not working I have replaced the two sensors one on transmission and the second on rear deferential. Still no change, the BCM acting strange when disconnected battery for second to it is normal for seconds then back to bad, no horn, emergency brake abs, airbag, wipers, air-condition, head light high beam out of control, BCM was replaced I have couple of them and each actin differently, what to do?

just came from dealer ******* and they didn't do nothing they just told me what I told the before,
I wonder if there is a way to completely disable and rewire somehow the ABS module just to do the speedo, because I just cut one wire on the connector and my wipers horn lights, except the ABS and Speed my concern only the speedo
any help or suggestion welcome
