That is exactly what it is supposed to do, create boost under load at the middle of the torque curve. The more fuel you ask for, the more boost you get. I love the sound, it tells me this magnificent beast is enjoying the ride as much as me!

Makes you wonder why they put a radio in these trucks. :) . Captain,do you have gages in your rig?I personally think boost and pyro. gages should be standard equipment on a C. T. D. (and trans. temp for autos). A boost leak could cause a strange noise. This is where a boost gage is benificial. will tell you immediately if you have a leak. also if you have any air box mods ,i. e. K&N, b. h. a. f. ,holes in air box ect. will increase turbo noise. I, myself love that turbo whine while pulling 10k or more up a 8-10% grade:D :D . Doug

turbo whine

yeah, ain't it great. take the silencer ring out, and it'll sound even purtier!!!!!! 4" straight thru exhaust and you can hear it out the tailpipe... ... . don't know why i put the 10 disc cd changer in for???? never listen to it. :D :D :D :D

silencer ring

It's just for noise reduction right?Working on a "to do"list for this weekend. I think i'll remove it. I also have a fuel pressure gage to put on(worried about that lift pump)and some other things. Being a mechanic sucks sometimes. It seems like I'm always working on somebody elses junk and my stuff gets put on hold  . Doug

silencer ring

noise reduction only. remove it for more turbo noise. take the air hoe off at the turbo. remove the large snap ring, take out the silencer ring. check for aluminum filings be fore you put the hose back on. wouldn't want to suck filings in through the turbo... ... enjoy!!:D

Thanks Herb,I'm also considering 5"stacks,but almost hate cutting holes in my bed. I've seen some around and love the look and sound. Doug
