Here is what I fabbed up for the 12 Valve...

It is a 3rd Gen OEM Rubber Elbow to a 4. 5" to 4" Sewer PVC Coupling (Not the sch40 stuff... )

Then to a 90° Elbow (Sewer PVC... )

PVC = $20

Then to an AMSOIL 4510 Air Filter...

Filter = $83shipped

It now just sails through the gears with all torque... on my 3rd Gen this setup has increased my mileage around 3-4mpg. I got 30. 8mpg going to San Antonio / Houston roundtrip. City looks like I'm around 28. 6mpg now. I can't complain...

You have gest messed up! you are pulling in hot air! You want to get cool air NOT hot air. Run it down on the back side of the front bumper. This way you will get cool air. This way you will run cooler in a hard pull. I dont know who told you to run it there but it is no good there. Good luck

Nope... I went to Orlando FL and back on 3 tanks. I don't know why or what the previous owner did but I am not going to mess with anything on my 3rd Gen...

That's less than 2000 miles. If you used 90 gallons it makes your mpg about 22. I could believe that.

I was averaging around 25-26mpg then... It has increased with my Intake and bumping my Edge up to the highest setting. I wonder what Injectors I have. They may be stock but my truck runs pretty stout. Not sure about the History of the truck. I came back from Odessa one night with a Gale Force Tailwind and was getting around 31mpg.

Sorry Fella's - No fish stories. But this one time when I was fishing... well never mind... :-laf

By the way - It's my 3rd Gen getting that mileage. I haven't driven my 12v enough lately to know what I'm getting now. Was around 18mpg coming down from CO before all the mod's. Now with the Death Wobble I don't drive it too far.

My plan is to eventually move the Battery to the back and the Air to the front. It's not a pressing issue to me. I will get to it... So far it is pulling in cool air in the cooler weather we are having.

There is a lot involved in moving the battery to the back. Well - enough that I didn't do it right away.

"gest"? :confused:

you realize that 2nd gens draw their air from the fender back near the firewall unlike at the front like your 3rd gen, right? If he put the filter in the same spot as your factory filter, he would be pulling in hot air and NOT cool air.

Yes I do. If you are going to do some changing you should do it right! Why do it over. The first did not help much pulling in hot air. Only give him more air but HOT.

Are you reading your milage off the computer? 3rd gen milage on the comp is so far off its unbelievable, mine was saying i was getting anywhere around 29-35, i was only getting 17 when i did the math.

I don't think it would be measurably louder than your AFE Stage I if that's what you're wondering. Though the hard pipe does seem to amplify the sound some.
