I'm hearing essentially two alternative huffers: the B1 and the Jammer. The B1 is bolt in replacement and accepts all after market air intakes that fit the stock truck. The Jammer requries a dedicated DD system.

what about performance? I'm hearing that the TST box grinds up B1s. does it also eat Jammers?

Wondering about the 400 RWHP level. Jammer or B1? I know there's a lot of respect on this board for the Jammer - anyone using a B1?

I'm running a B1 on my 01, I have yet to hear of anyone blowing up a B1 much less multiple B1's. Please post any threads related I am interested so I can start worrying. To my knowledge the B1 is the most durable turbo out thus far. I was told not to worry about giving it a beating so I havent and I have had no problems thus far.

Tom-

After reading that second post (6 pages), I think what happened is that the guy put on a new B-1 after his 40 blew up. However, he never removed the old oil from the CAC. This oil was burned by his engine as fuel and caused the CTD to "runaway. " If I'm not mistaken, it had nothing to do with the B-1 at all, just an easy error on the part of the guy who installed it. In fact, if I read the post correctly, the new turbo is still in good shape. Maybe I misunderstood the whole thing, but it seems like the turbo was not to blame on that one.

Jammers have met there end in short order when combined with the TST on higher levels. I have not yet read of anyone with a smoking a standard (full size) B-1 but a couple of kwikspools that I know of have also met their end. Common sense and caution will be required with either one I would think. Combined with a great deal of self restraint. :)

Aye, I don't think any turbo could survive a run away condition. The other thread said it damaged the compressor wheel, I was thinking you were saying they were grenading themselves like the HX40's or Jammer's. From what I saw I don't need to worry yet, thanks for providing the links they were a good read.

There is a picture of the B1 broken down next to a broken down HX-40 floating around and you can see the major difference in the beef of the B1.
