hey man, there as many choices as there are fueling boxes, the ultimate question is how much hp and torque do you want. For 350-500 hp range from what I've read the II super phat shaft 62 w/ 14 cm exhaust housing, that's what I am planning to get within the next year. For anything more than that you are looking at sps 66 or a twins setup, in my opinion. Jay

I hate to burst your buble, but I don't think there is a turbo that will clear smoke on 9x9. The problem is, you are most likey draining the rail, leaving a lot of fuel unburnt due to the low injection pressure and giving lots of smoke and high egts. Moderation is the key here. Try 5x5 and I bet its faster.

As for a good turbo, we need to know where you want the truck to be and what you are doing with it. towing with 500 hp requires a different set up than drag racing with 700hp.

BTW - Even with twins, with my 100hp injectors my TST with the twins program is set at 3x3. And I am somewhere over 600hp. And it flat hauls the mail! Some food for thought.

Either a good 62mm turbo or twins. Anything else will be too laggy and hot and smokey.

I would recommend either the PS62 or SPS62 fropm Industrial Injection or a BD single charger.

I like the BD twins but they are a huge chunk of cash compared to a single charger.

When it comes to towing the combination I have like is the 62/12,and Yes I have had Twins. I am not going to start the the TDR1 turbo war on the forum,so contact Me or Pm. Mileage and EB is on of My main concern with twins.

it is very possible to keep egt's down and tow all you want, a sps 62, with water meth will never get hot. and it will work fine with your tst on 9x9, but it's not practicle to run on 9x9, with out other fueling mods like modded cp3 and ahost of other goodies. hope this helps

Would anyone care to weigh in on the 12cm vs. 14cm housings on the SPS62 or HTT 62mm? I'm sure my thinking is outdated but 12cm sounds too small since we were always getting rid of it on 94-02 trucks. I'll be getting one of these from II or HTT and don't care so much about lag, just want useable power. I'm pretty happy with the DD jammer on my 03 but they are not very rugged.

Twins if you want over 500hp and want to tow with little worry. You can do it with other set up's but in the end most are happier with twin's in this set up. Just my . 02 Been there done that!

I'm currently running a PS62/12 with an ATS manifold on my 03 HO. I hate to say it but I'm only running an EZ Edge with a cold air intake and I have plenty of power. I picked the 62/12 over the 62/14 because I feared at some point California emmisions might catch up with me on the 14. The 12 runs plenty cool with the ez set on 2 while towing. Even the steepest grades I have yet to see 1200*. If I was going to run more than an EZ while towing I'd go with a 62/14. Good luck with your decision.

How heavy are you towing to only see 1200*? What speed are you running and how big are the hills? How's the spool compared to the stocker? I'm looking at a towing single. On my stocker with only 90 hp injectors I could get 1300*+ with 7000 lbs in tow up Grapevine at 62 mph. I was hoping to find something that keeps it cool and doesn't smoke with a box turned on. Right now the box is a mosquito killer on any setting.

I've had the PS62/12 for about a year now with no problems and virtually no smoke. As I said before I'm only running an EZ box set at level 2 which is the recommended tow setting. The trailer that I pull is about 8500 lbs. I've towed the Grapevine with this setup but I can't remember at what speed I pulled it. I do know that my egt's stayed under 1200* which before was impossible. Prior to the 62/12 I had a 3gen turbo modified by Piers and had nothing but trouble with it. The modified 3g turbo would bark while towing. The PS62/12 seems to spool just as fast as the stocker and it has never barked. With the EZ set on 2 I can pull 36 lbs of boost. If you are running a box and injectors I'd look at the 62/14. I went with the 62/12 because I really don't plan on any more engine mod's and again there's the possibility of Cali. smog tests in our future.

THE PS62/14 spools just finie. I just sold a SPS version of it. The guy loves it. ALso, we had that SPS62/14 on an 06 MC duallay and nothing but a Superchips and the lag was a little more than stock, but not by very much at all. From a dead stop it only took about 10-15 feet before it built enough power to tear the tires loose. Not bad spool up. I towed my 13K lb 5th wheel with that same truck out of Roseburg, OR all the way back to Sacramento. No problems with lag ad no problems at all with temps, and its still did better on fuel than pulling on flat land with the stock charger.

Customer on here bought my 62/12 and runs it on a 12V towing around 10K or so I believe. He loves it, has no EGT issues. MGarland is his user name. PM him if you want.
