Rip's 4" Exhaust

Changing to a Synthetic

Ok I'm installing stacks this coming Saturday and now I'm kinda wondering what I should run:confused:

At first I was all for Miter Cuts, but now I'm kinda like should I get turnouts to reduce soot showers???

Anyways here is a picture of my truck and just an honest opinion is all I'm looking for!:D

Get the turnouts for just what you said, soot showers, if you point them at a 45* back and side they will work good for ya

cheers, Kevin

That's one thing I'm really worried about especially with a white truck Kevin, but I also thought about stack hats from www.iowa80.com that Bigsaint got

However $80 for 2 is a little pricey:rolleyes:

heres my $. 02

I have the mitre's and love them, I dont seem to have a problem with soot showers (i also have a BLACK flatbed so who knows) :D but the one thing that has always worried me is letting it sit outside while it's raining but I use empty coffee cans on those occasions. Anyway thats my $. 78

I personally think that the mitre cut pipes look much better. I'm not sure on how bad the soot problem is though. To each his own. Just put some 370's and dv's in and let the smoke pour out of them, whatever way you go. :D

I'm going to run turnout's because I already have a free set. I like them better anyway, along with the bullhaulers. Any of them should do fine. :D

I was going to get Bull Haulers I REALLY REALLY WANTED BULL HAULERS!

But it was gonna take Eagle Truck Products in S. C. 3 weeks to get some chromed BEFORE they could mail them to me. :{

Oh well I can swith on down the line. :D

Getting ready to put some miter cuts on my truck and am going to move the job box back about 8 inches to clear the six inch stacks. Then my idea was to make a cover that goes across the front of the truck with 7 inch holes cut in it to slide over the stacks and cover the area between the job box and front of the truck. Plus ti would give me somewhere else to mount some clamps.

Those that dont have stacks yet

For those that dont have them, here's my helpful little hint. I went to my local Kenworth dealer and bought all the chrome pieces (2 straight mitre cut 4" pipes 4' tall, 2 45* elbows, 8' of flexpipe, and all clamps), I also got my 'T' pipe, I spend $250 total. Then went to Napa for the under truck pieces and bought a 3" to 4" reducer, and 4" pipe (whatever length you need). All told I spend $300 and did the work myself.

I've read that the mother-in-law tongues will drive you nuts.

I'd go for bull haulers turned out at 45° painted black to match my black diamond plate tool box and sport truck.

Get some pics for us when you get it finished.

i have the turnouts right now... but will be cutting them shorter and making them miter cuts so i can get in the garage still when i put on the new tires and rims... personally... . i think these look much better... as far as the ran goes... . no way can you fill up a pipe that big or small for that matter... and within a minute of thetruck runnung the exhaust will have either pushed the water out or evaporated it. .

Exactly what I did... ... ... ... ... ... ..... cheers, Kevin

Miter cuts look best (which is what I have on mine) but the soot showers are bad in the rain, no big deal when its dry; the wind clears it off.
