Turn the key and Nothing happens and Weird display

On my 2018: Turn the key and Big Black Nothing. Try a couple more times turning from off to on or crank Nothing: blank display no crank just silence. Dome lights on. Had used Key FOB to unlock doors like I always do. Remove key and try again and the truck starts. Ummmmm...

Batteries are new AGM as of March this year.

Prior to this the display weirded out once. What's missing here? You know that feeling "Isn't that cute, BUT IT'S WRONG!" and it takes a moment to figure out what's wrong?

I switched screens from Speedometer to menu and back. Then the "line" and Odometer showed back up. (Or it will display the set speed for cruise as referenced in pic below.)

You said batteries are new since March. My first thought is to individually load test them, you never know till you test.

Wouldn't be the first short life battery I had in AZ, but, they tested fine.

I had 3.1V on the one I use all the time and 3.2V on the one I don't. I replaced both key fob batteries with new ones that measured 3.2V. IMO these batteries just die rather than getting weak - esp the AA ones I use in other stuff and the low battery warnings never go off they just quit...

I thought the system was RFID and didn't need a battery in the key?

Yep, RFID.

I thought the battery made a difference, but maybe that’s only on the keyless trucks.

Looks like two separate problems. One is an old (2014) known problem that appears to have come back up. I see where it's mentioned the cruise isn't working when this happens.

That link didn’t work. I’ve had the disappearing odometer many times. Never bothered me enough to research it.
the no start issue I had after a reflash. Truck would just not start. Would have to hit the lock- unlock buttons on the key fob a few times then it would start. I had to give the dealer both my fobs when they reflashed it again. 99% of the time it works. But every now an then it will just not play nice an we have to fob lock unlock game.

Doesn't directly apply to us, but, FCA's seen it before on 2014 1500's.
